University of North Carolina Hospitals is a Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center designated by the NC Office of Emergency Medical Services (NCOEMS) and verified by the American College of Surgeons (ACS). UNC Hospitals also serves as the lead agency for the Mid Carolina Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) and as the designated burn center for North Carolina.
