Staying Safe on the Move

Do you want to be safe while you are on the move? Are you afraid of falling? No matter how you are trying to move, you should be safe while you are doing it. Driving, public transportation, walking, and riding bikes are ways to move around Orange County. September 23rd –September 29th is Falls Prevention Week. The Orange County Department of Aging presents programs used to increase public awareness on how to prevent and reduce falls among older adults. On September 25th there will be a free CarFit as well as Balance Screenings (by appointment only), footwear examinations, walker and cane fitting adjustments. Consultations are available with appointment request. These screenings will be provided by UNC University Physical Therapy, UNC Occupational Therapy, UNC Health Care Trauma Program, EMS and the Orange County Department on Aging as well as other community partners. Registration is required. If you need transportation from Passmore Center please inform front desk during registration.
